Conference weekend!

This time around for Conference we stayed in our home and watched General Conference on our tv. I like to have my hands busy while I listen to the talks, it helps me tune in better. Yesterday Jonathan helped me make these delicious seven layer bars. They are oh so yummy and fattening (and super quick to make).

Recipe?

Melt 1/4 cup butter in pan on low heat.
Add 2 or more cups of graham cracker crumbs and 2 tbs. sugar to melted butter.
Spread mixture on bottom of 13x9 pan, pressing it firm and even.
This is the fun part! Add however many chocolate, peanut butter, white chocolate, or butterscotch chips as you like on top. You may also add walnut bits (I always do- they give a nice crunch!)
Pour one 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk evenly on top. You may add some coconut flakes and mini chocolate chips on top of this to make them even more fancy.
Cook for 25-30 min. at 350 degrees and wallah! I highly recommend letting them cool for about half an hour in the fridge before eating, otherwise they are way too gooey and hard to eat.

And during today's morning session I made these wall decor squares. We needed something on the blank wall above our couch, and this was the perfect cheap project.

I got a killer deal on the 3 art canvasses- they were less than $10 all together! The paint was acrylic.

I painted the canvasses brown with 2 coats for a dark even finish.

And after I painted them they looked like this: (keep in mind that I am no artist!)

This one doesn't look so orange in person, it is more copper.

I've never used metallic paint before but I really love how it turned out. The paint reflects sunlight nicely and kinda shimmers.

I also made some more flower broaches last week, but I will save those for another post. I hope everyone enjoyed listening to all the Conference talks this weekend. There were some that I definitely needed to hear. I am so thankful for the leaders, apostles and prophet that head up this gospel. They are inspiring people!
