"Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam"

Today was not only our first Sunday in our new ward, but also Talmage's first time as a sunbeam in Primary!

I sat with him through both hours, and it was quite the adjustment. He kept asking me "Where is my snack?" and "Where are the toys?" Haha...it was hard to explain to him that he is no longer in nursery, but I tried to emphasize that primary is WAY more fun. He didn't believe me :)

But overall, he did pretty well. He loves his teacher and she is wonderful with the little kids. Our junior primary is also fairly small, which is nice because his voice gets heard more (literally...).

Right after sacrament was over, Jonathan and I were called to be primary teachers. Not even an hour into our brand new ward and we're in primary. Ha. I had to chuckle...this is my third primary calling in less than two years. I had a break for a little bit (only because I requested it) and was able to attend Relief Society, which I truly needed...I'm sad that I won't get the chance to go to RS in our ward for a while but excited to know the primary workers and presidency. The best part is that Jonathan and I get to sit with our CTR-6 class in the back of Junior Primary and keep our eye on little Talmage :) He's a wild one, so that's probably a good thing.

As I was sitting with him on my lap, I was filling out a "Spotlight" sheet for him and one of the questions was "What is your favorite Primary song?" I was about to put down "Child of God" or "Popcorn Popping" (the usual faves), but he told me to write "Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam." I don't know why, but my eyes suddenly welled up with tears. I love him so much, and I love how eager he is to do good. He really does "shine for Him each day". There is no one that emulates the Savior more than a child, and what a blessing to have two sweet children to remind me of Him every day.

Today my heart is full of love for sunbeams and for the joy they bring! And for primary callings ;)
